October Home Project
St. Thomas Aquinas
Studiousness – Seeking knowledge to grow closer to Truth
Choose one of the following home projects. As you work with your family on the project throughout the month, think about St. Thomas Aquinas and how he used studiousness to strengthen his faith and become closer to God.- List every subject you learn about in school. After discussing the list with your family, clearly explain in the paragraph how each subject brings you closer to God. Use clear examples in your writing. Explain how this displays and helps you understand the virtue of studiousness. Explain how it follows the example of St. Thomas Aquinas.
- Each day of the month, think of one thing you learned at school that taught you about God or helps you glorify Him. Write them down and discuss them with your family. Find ideas from all your classes, not only religion. You might even use examples or ideas you learned at recess or lunch. Include the examples and explanations from your family discussions in the paragraph. Clearly explain how doing this shows studiousness. Explain how it follows the example of St. Thomas Aquinas.
- Take five to ten minutes every day to wonder about God and your faith with your family. Write down your thoughts and questions and discuss them. In the paragraph clearly explain how wondering demonstrates the virtue of studiousness. Explain how this follows St. Thomas Aquinas’ example.
Write a complete paragraph explaining your project. How did the project demonstrate the virtue of studiousness? What did you learn from Saint Thomas Aquinas’ example that will help you demonstrate studiousness as you grow and mature.
Please type (size 12 font, double spaced) your home project. Include the complete heading on the paper. Use complete sentences and correct grammar and spelling. Remember to read your paragraph out loud before you are ready to turn it in to make sure the writing is clear to the reader. Be prepared to give a short oral summary explaining your project to the class on October 28.
Your home project is due October 28. -
