Virtue Project

Project Directions: Select ONE project to complete for the month. OPTION 1: Fighting for Justice Justice often involves "speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves" (Proverbs 31:8). You can do this entirely through correspondence. Focus on one local issue (e.g., affordable housing, prison reform, or food insecurity). Use a "Faith Perspective" template: “As a constituent and a person of faith, I am concerned about...” to write a "mock" letter to a your a local city council member or governmental entity. With adult approval, send the letter to the chosen recipient. OPTION 2: Biblical Analysis Read and reflect on Isaiah 1:17 and provide a detailed analysis of how the virtue of mercy is intertwined and woven into the passage.
Project Submission: Write a 400–500 word response explaining your project experience. Your response must have a clear indication of: 1) How the project demonstrated the virtue of justice. 2) How you plan to practice justice in the future. 3) Your key takeaways from St. Thomas More that will aid you in practicing justice. Be sure to use complete sentences, and correct grammar and spelling. Remember to read your work out loud before you are ready to turn it in to make sure the writing is clear and coherent to the reader. Be prepared to share your project in a 1-minute oral presentation at the end of the month. Grading Criteria: 1. Complete and coherent responses/answers to required questions (40 pts) 2. Thoughtful reflection and personal application (30 pts) 3. Clear, grammatically correct writing (10 pts) 4. Formatting is correct and accurate (10 pts) 5. On-time submission (10 pts)
